20:08 DET Tigers v HOU Astros 1 1.34
Stake: 100 Units
Total Odd: 1.34

We are again in MLB and today’s choice is game 3 between Tigers and Astros. Two games were played so far and Tigers managed to win both games with 7:2 and 6:2. After the failure in the series against Indians, Tigers will try their best to close the series against Astros with win. To achieve that goal Tigers’ coach will send to the mound the right-handed pitcher Max Scherzer, who is 5-0 (3.61 ERA) this year. Scherzer will look to follow Fister (5-1, 3.06 ERA) – and lead the Tigers to a sweep of their new American League companions – like he did the last time he faced the Astros. Scherzer tossed eight innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts on May 4 in a 17-2 romp of the Astros in Houston. So Scherzer will be full of confidence tonight against Astros and he showed that confidence with the following words: “You just know with our type of offense, they’re going to score runs. Most of the time, we’re going to score five, six runs. So if you can go out there and just prevent them from having a big inning and pitch effectively into the sixth, seventh inning, you’ve got a great shot to help the team to win.”  That’s precisely what the Tigers have done against the Astros this season, outscoring them, 50-12, en route to six wins in as many tries.

Houston will send left-hander Dallas Keuchel, who is 0-1 (4.43 ERA) this season. The 25 year-old pitcher has one start this year and that start was against Detroit. In that game he pitched 4 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 runs. Obviously Keuchel is like a rookie compared to Scherzer so I think the pitching advantage is on Tigers’ side.

In addition Tigers are on of the best home teams, while Astros are the worst away team with 4-14 record. Moreover Tigers’ offence is much better than Astros’ and that fact was proved in the last 2 games from the series, where Tigers achieved 19 hits and 13 runs, while Astros made 12 hits and 4 runs. The head-to-head statistic is on Tigers’ side too. They won the last six games against Astros – 7:3, 4:3, 17:2, 9:0, 7:2 and 6:2. The last win for Astros in Detrot was before 13 years – July 14, 2000.
