The 3rd game in this series will take place tonight between Cubs and Cardinals. Both teams will send their ace pitchers on the mound as they want to take the lead in the series. Cubs’ coach will rely on Matt Garza, while Cardinals on Lance Lynn.

Garza is 5-1 with 3.22 ERA this year and with every start comes the speculation that it could be his last as a Cubs’ player. He has been red hot over his last five outings, surrendering just four earned runs over 37 innings. While the Cubs have talked about a possible contract extension, Garza is a candidate to be dealt before the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline. Obviously, he’s throwing extremely well and he’s very healthy and there are teams out there looking for pitching who are going to call and try to acquire him. In addition Garza is very solid in his 1st innings, where he hasn’t allowed a run in his last 10 games.

Starting opposite Garza is Lance Lynn, who will be looking to tie teammate Adam Wainwright and Washington’s Jordan Zimmermann with a National League-best 12th win. Lynn limited the Marlins to two runs on seven hits and a walk in his last outing. He expanded his arsenal in that start, mixing in a slider, cutter and sinker with his four-seam fastball and changeup. His sinker has been a work in progress this season. Lynn is 11-3 with 3.67 ERA this year and he is solid in his 1st innings too. In his last 10 games, he has allowed run only 2 times.

Obviously tonight we will have very strong and confident pitchers for both team so we expect low scoring game till the 6th inning. We hope that they will be solid in the 1st inning, so take the Under and GL!
