Despite good start of the World Cup Qualifications I think Bulgaria will not have real chances for win against Denmark. There are many reasons for that conclusion. One of them is that Bulgaria will miss several key players because of injuries or recieved yellow/red cards in previous games. The game for Bulgaria will miss Svetoslav Dyakov (red card), Veselin Minev (yellow cards), Zanev (injured) and Emil Gargorov (injured). These players are key players for Penev’s formation, so that will be big blow for Bulgaria. Penev will try to find proper players to replace missing players but that will be very hard task as we know what is the quality in the Bulgarian A Group. The names which appear in the press was Venkov, Iliev, Zlatinski and Velev. These players have no real experience in the national team so we cannot expect much from them. The other fact which lead me to this prediction is the head-to-head statistic which shows that Bulgaria have only 1 win from 7 matches against Denmark. But this win is far in the past (1979). Near past shows that Denmark totally dominated over Bulgaria with 3 wins from last 4 matches.

Head-to-head statistic:
18.06.2004 > Bulgaria v Denmark 0:2
05.09.2001 > Bulgaria v Denmark 0:2
11.10.2000 > Denmark v Bulgaria 1:1
26.04.1989 > Bulgaria v Denmark 0:2
02.11.1988 > Denmark v Bulgaria 1:1
31.10.1979 >  Bulgaria v Denmark 3:0
11.10.1978 > Denmark v Bulgaria 2:2

In addition Denmark have to win this game if they want to claim their ambitions in the group. Denmark made a draw (0:0) at home against Czech Rep. and now they have to play 3 away games in a row against Bulgaria, Italy and Czech Rep. Obviously the first game is very important and their first opponent looks to be the weakest, so take Denmark or Draw and GL!
