It’s time for game 2 from the series between White Sox and Yankees and a tough pitching duel will take place tonight at Chicago’s U.S. Cellular Field. The duel will be between left-hander Chris Sale and the right-hander Hiroki Kuroda.

Sale has been one of the game’s best pitchers despite having the lowest run support margin in the Major Leagues. The All-Star left-hander has a 2.92 ERA and 155 strikeouts, but the White Sox have averaged just 2.55 runs in games he’s started, leaving him with a 6-11 record. Sale will attempt to rebound against the Yankees after posting one of his worst starts Thursday, when he gave up five runs over five innings in a loss to the Indians. In addition Sale is almost flawless in his last 11 first innings, where he has allowed only one run in 11 outings. We have to mention that Sale will be facing an offense that will be without a key piece. The Yankees placed shortstop Derek Jeter on the disabled list on Monday for the third time this season with a right leg injury.

Kuroda hasn’t gotten much run support either, but that didn’t stop him from having a nearly unblemished month of July. The right-hander went 3-0 with an 0.55 ERA last month, allowing just two runs in 33 innings over five starts. The right-hander led the Yankees to a win on Wednesday in his last time out, throwing seven scoreless frames against the Dodgers while allowing just five hits. Overall Kuroda is 10-6 with 2.38 ERA and his performance in 1st innings is the same like Sale10 scoreless 1st innings in his last 11 outings.

In addition Kuroda is 2-1 with a 2.53 ERA in his career against the White SoxSale has been even better against the Yankees, going 1-1 with an 0.82 ERA.

Obviously we will have very strong and confident pitchers on the mound, so we expect low scoring game. We hope that they will be solid in the 1st inning, so take the Under and GL!
